This exhibition is devoted to the period that lasted from the late 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century, in which Spanish Louisiana was returned to France, who then sold it to the United States. The Historic New Orleans Collection and a number of French institutions have loaned a number of documents, including magnificent maps and plans of New Orleans and Louisiana, the treaty between France and the United States, documents describing the revolt of the French at the arrival of the Spanish, and the situation in New Orleans at the time of the arrival of the negotiators of the sale to the United States in 1801-1802.
